The Imperial Luxury of Space

August 17, 2016
Inspired by The Peninsula Beijing’s location close to the most famous palaces, temples and monuments in the Chinese capital, Hong Kong-based designer Henry Leung adopted a contemporary twist on Chinese culture and heritage as the design concept for the new suites.

With guest comfort and convenience being at the centre of the hotel’s reconstruction, the original 525 rooms and suites were reduced and reimagined to just 230 suite-styled rooms. Each room offers a separate bedroom, living room, bathroom and an ample dressing area with a valet box and nail dryer. All guests have the added benefit of complimentary VOIP calls and complimentary WiFi – plus 24-hour check-in and check-out, another of the unique innovations for a luxury hotel in China. Guests can relax in the most personalised suites in the world, with proprietary in-room technology delivering 11 languages at the touch of a fingertip, and paperless hotel and city information and services just a click away.

A loft-style collection of Duplex Suites on the top floor of the hotel offers a chic and sophisticated twist on contemporary Beijing living. Unique in China, the duplex suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows affording expansive views over the capital skyline from the master bedroom upstairs, and from the entry lobby and living room downstairs.

The spacious and bright Beijing suites are the essence of luxury. Facing the forecourt and city adds a sense of vitality to the residence-like room. As you enter the living area, modern decorations and traditional tones fill the room with warmth. Family moments await in the private cinema room, with an 80 inch HDTV and surround sound bringing films to life. A separate powder room, dressing area and grand walk in closet adds to the experience of discreet luxury. With two entrances, separating work from pleasure has never been easier.
